The port basically consists of two basins, one sheltered by the outer breakwater and the other inner, defined by the breakwater of the Sailing Club facilities and by the old inner breakwater, composed of two parts, the eastern one occupied by the facilities directly managed by the Administration.

To locate the harbor entrance from the open sea during the day, one can see Cap de sa Mola, a prominent headland with a sheer cliff and a modern lighthouse topped by a column painted in black and white stripes atop a white turret, standing over one hundred meters high. Near this cape, the beacon on the breakwater head of the port of Andratx, consisting of a truncated conical masonry tower, can already be seen. At night, the lights of both maritime signals are used for navigation: at Cap de sa Mola, groups of white flashes, as indicated by light number 35170 in the Book; and at the breakwater head, groups of red flashes, as indicated by light number 35190 in the same book.
