The measure frees up space in the ports and concludes the administrative procedure initiated after the owners of the vessels could not be identified.

Ports de les Illes Balears (PortsIB), an entity dependent on the Ministry of the Sea and the Water Cycle of the Government of the Balearic Islands, has declared the abandonment of eight small boats and seven engines located in the ports of Portocolom and Colònia de Sant Jordi, once the administrative procedure foreseen in the Ports Law of the Balearic Islands has been completed.

The resolution affects vessels that remained in port facilities without it being possible to identify their owners or those responsible. Following the opening of the corresponding files and the publication of the official notices required by law, no objections or claims of ownership were submitted within the established deadlines.

Specifically, the declaration of abandonment affects one boat and one engine located in Portocolom, and seven boats and six engines located in Colònia de Sant Jordi. All of these items had been previously removed from port areas after being found without sufficient identification and without any record of an owner who could claim them.

With this resolution, PortsIB completes the necessary administrative procedures to incorporate these abandoned vessels and engines into its assets, in accordance with regional port regulations. The declaration of abandonment also frees up space in the affected ports and ensures more efficient management of the port's public domain.

The vessels will be transferred to the Son Tous facilities for safekeeping, where they will remain at the disposal of PortsIB for any subsequent actions that may be required in accordance with current legislation.

The action is part of the control and management work carried out by PortsIB in the ports under regional management to preserve safety, the proper functioning of the facilities and the correct use of port spaces.
