The operation has taken place in the areas of es Viver, ses Figueretes and Talamanca with the participation of various administrations and operational bodies

The Government of the Balearic Islands participated this Friday in a new day of inspection and control of the coastline carried out in the areas of es Viver, ses Figueretes and Talamanca (Ibiza), within the framework of the Coastal Surveillance Service.

The operation, promoted by the Ibiza Town Council, involved technicians and inspectors from the Coastal Surveillance Service of the Directorate General of Ports and Maritime Transport, as well as officers from the Civil Guard and the Ibiza Local Police. This joint operation strengthens coordination between administrations to guarantee compliance with regulations and the protection of the coastline.

During the day, nine vessels were inspected and nine reports were filed for possible irregularities detected in nautical activity. These reports will now be processed by the competent authorities to determine, if necessary, whether to initiate the corresponding administrative proceedings.

The Coastal Surveillance Service of the Ministry of the Sea and the Water Cycle participated in the operation with two of its vessels assigned to the Pitiusas Islands, part of the fleet deployed this summer to reinforce surveillance, inspection, and control of activity along the Balearic coast. This service aims to prevent and detect irregular practices, especially regarding illegal chartering, misuse of public maritime domain, and non-compliance with current regulations.

These types of actions are part of the inspection schedule promoted by the Ministry of the Sea and the Water Cycle during the summer season, with the collaboration of the different administrations and operational bodies, to reinforce maritime safety, promote orderly nautical activity and contribute to the conservation of the marine environment.
