The infrastructure has fully recovered its functionality after the successful completion of the final phase of the rehabilitation promoted by PortsIB, maintaining its heritage value and guaranteeing structural safety.

The Sa Colàrsega bridge, in the inner port of Ciutadella, has today successfully passed the load tests carried out within the framework of the rehabilitation works promoted by the Government of the Balearic Islands, through Ports of the Balearic Islands (PortsIB), and is now definitively open to road traffic.

The load test, carried out today, has verified the correct structural behavior of the new structure integrated inside the historic bridge, confirming that it meets all the safety standards required for its full operation.

This work marks the completion of the final phase of a project that has successfully combined the preservation of the Sa Colàrsega bridge's heritage value with improvements to its safety and functionality. The rehabilitation included the installation of a new structural framework and the placement of the bridge deck, actions that guarantee the stability and durability of the infrastructure.

The reopening to road traffic represents the full recovery of connectivity at this strategic point of the inner port of Ciutadella, after the pedestrian walkway was enabled and the port ramp became operational a few days ago.

With this intervention, the Government reaffirms its commitment to the improvement, modernization and maintenance of the port infrastructures of the Balearic Islands, guaranteeing at the same time the protection and preservation of emblematic elements integrated into the historical and heritage environment of the ports.
