The Government brings the debate on port management and coastal protection to the XX Symposium of Marinas

Regional Minister Juan Manuel Lafuente and Director General Antoni Mercant represent the Balearic Government at a meeting focused on the new challenges of the maritime sector

The Ministry of the Sea and the Water Cycle is participating in the XX Symposium of Marinas, which is being held today and tomorrow at the Port Centre of the Port Authority of the Balearic Islands, where the Ministry and Ports of the Balearic Islands (PortsIB) are listed as institutional collaborators.

The Director General of Ports and Maritime Transport, Antoni Mercant, is participating today in a panel of experts dedicated to the management of marinas and coastal areas in the autonomous communities, along with representatives from various port authorities across Spain, including those of Andalusia, the Valencian Community, Catalonia, Galicia, the Canary Islands, and the Basque Country. The panel serves as a forum for exchanging experiences on management models, port planning, and shared challenges.

Also, tomorrow Friday the Minister of the Sea and the Water Cycle, Juan Manuel Lafuente, will speak, offering the conference "The protection of the Balearic coast: deployment of the surveillance and cleaning service in the Balearic Islands", in which he will address the main actions of the Government in terms of coastal protection, with special attention to the reinforcement of surveillance and cleaning devices throughout the archipelago.

The Ministry will also be represented by the manager of PortsIB, Kico Villalonga, who attends the different days of the symposium.

The meeting brings together nearly one hundred institutional and professional representatives from the maritime and port sector throughout the country, consolidating itself as a space for coordination, exchange of experiences and cooperation between administrations.

The Ministry of the Sea and Water Cycle and Ports of the Balearic Islands reinforce their commitment to inter-territorial collaboration and the exchange of best practices in the management of the coastline and port areas through their participation.
