The contract will guarantee for two years the preventive and corrective maintenance of the underwater elements of the ports directly managed by PortsIB throughout the island

The Government of the Balearic Islands, through Ports de les Illes Balears (PortsIB), an entity attached to the Ministry of the Sea and the Water Cycle, has approved the tender for the new contract for comprehensive conservation services of the mooring systems and underwater structures of the ports directly managed by Mallorca, with a budget of 1.782.781 euros (VAT included).

This contract will guarantee the proper maintenance of mooring systems, chains, mooring blocks, fenders, anchors, and all other underwater elements that form part of the port infrastructure for the next two years. The objective is to ensure their good condition, reinforce the safety of the facilities, and guarantee the continuity of service provided to users.

To facilitate more efficient management, the service has been divided into three lots corresponding to different areas of the Mallorcan coast: Western Mallorca, Southeastern Mallorca, and Northeastern Mallorca. This distribution will optimize available resources, expedite the response to maintenance needs, and improve the planning of operations.

The contract is being processed through an open procedure subject to harmonized regulation and will have an initial duration of 24 months. Its estimated value amounts to 3,75 million euros, including any possible extensions and modifications provided for in public procurement regulations.

With this action, the Balearic Government continues to advance its strategy for the conservation and modernization of its regional port infrastructure. Regular maintenance of underwater components is essential to guarantee the safety of the facilities, ensure the proper functioning of the ports, and provide a high-quality service to users of the port network managed by PortsIB.
