Ports de les Illes Balears will have a contract worth 3,2 million euros to guarantee the service for three years

Ports de les Illes Balears (Ports IB), an entity dependent on the Ministry of the Sea and the Water Cycle of the Government of the Balearic Islands, has awarded the contract for the supply of electricity for its buildings and facilities for a period of three years, from March 1, 2026 to February 28, 2029.

The contract has been awarded to the company Endesa Energía SAU, within the framework of the centralized contracting agreement of the Government of the Balearic Islands for the supply of electricity to the regional public sector.

The contract has an estimated value of 3,37 million euros, with a total expenditure budget of 3,2 million euros (VAT included) distributed over several years until 2029.

This action guarantees the continuity of the electricity supply in all managed facilities, after the termination of the previous contract on February 28, 2026, thus ensuring the proper functioning of the ports under regional jurisdiction.

The new contract has been formalized following the criteria established in the regional framework agreement, which sets a price system linked to the wholesale electricity market, allowing for efficient management adapted to the evolution of energy costs.

Furthermore, the award responds to the need to ensure a stable energy supply, optimize public resources and maintain the operability of port infrastructures in the Balearic Islands.
